IN THE WORLD OF BUKOWSKI

“In the world of Charles Bukowski” included 3 poems from Charles Bukowski. This project seeks to communicate with the audience mainly through sound. It allows viewers to enter into Charles Bukowski’s poetry by further incorporating the sense of hearing through an accompanying visual. Poetry exposes you to a part of the world that you haven’t witnessed, sounds make poetry become more effective and heighten the emotional sense. The meaning derived from the work comes not just from the installation but also from the viewers’ personal interpretation of experience.

Charles Bukowski‘s poetry is extremely raw and brutally honest. His poetry forces us to think. He used his poetry and prose to depict the depravity of urban life and the downtrodden in American society, so when you read it you’ll feel the vibe of the true American era after world the war. Bukowski relied on experience, emotion, and imagination in his work, using direct language and violent and sexual imagery. People will understand and experience the feelings of the poetry through sound. The meaning derived from the work comes not just from the installation but also from the viewers’ personal interpretation of experience.
